Privacy & Security — Vaux

Privacy & Security

Your money is yours.
We just help you see it.

Vaux connects to your accounts to show you information — nothing more. We cannot move money, we do not sell data, and we never will.

Built for people who
take their finances
— and their privacy —
seriously.

Connecting a financial app to your bank accounts requires trust. We don't take that lightly. Every decision we've made about how Vaux handles your data has been made with one question in mind: would we be comfortable if our own money were in this system?

The answer is yes. Here's exactly why.

How we protect you

256-bit encryption

All data transmitted between your device and Vaux is encrypted using AES-256 — the same standard used by banks and governments worldwide. Your information is unreadable in transit and at rest.

Read-only access

Vaux can only see your account information. We cannot move money, initiate transfers, or make any changes to your accounts — ever. Viewing is all we do.

We never sell your data

Your financial data is yours. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to target you with offers. Full stop. This is not in our business model and never will be.

Hosted on Google Cloud

Vaux runs on Google Cloud infrastructure — one of the most secure and reliable platforms in the world, with ISO 27001 certification, SOC 2 compliance, and 99.99% uptime SLAs.

Delete everything, anytime

Close your account and every piece of data Vaux holds about you is permanently deleted. No archives. No backups retained. Your data disappears completely.

Bank connections via Plaid

We connect to your bank through Plaid — the industry standard trusted by thousands of financial apps. Your bank credentials are never seen or stored by Vaux. Ever.

Common questions

Can Vaux move my money or make transactions?

No. Vaux has read-only access to your accounts through Plaid. This means we can see balances and transactions, but we have no ability to move funds, initiate payments, or make any changes whatsoever. It is technically impossible for Vaux to touch your money.

Does Vaux store my bank login credentials?

No. When you connect your bank, you log in directly through Plaid's secure interface. Vaux never sees your username or password. Plaid handles authentication and passes us only the account data we need to calculate your Available Spend.

Who can see my financial data?

Only you. Your data is stored encrypted on Google Cloud and is only accessible through your authenticated Vaux account. No Vaux employee can view your individual account data without explicit permission from you.

Do you sell my data to third parties?

Never. We do not sell, rent, or share your financial data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party. Our business model is a subscription — your data is not the product.

What happens if I delete my account?

When you delete your Vaux account, all of your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems — including account connections, transaction history, and any personal information. There are no hidden archives.

What encryption does Vaux use?

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption — the same standard used by the US government and major financial institutions worldwide.
