Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Vaux, operated by Vauxx Inc. ("Vaux", "we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them.
What Vaux does
Vaux helps groups plan trips and divide shared costs. It records who paid for what and what each person owes, and it produces payment links you choose to act on.
What Vaux does not do
Vaux is not a bank, a money transmitter, or a payment processor. We never move money. Every payment between you and another person happens in your own payment app, initiated by you. We do not hold funds, guarantee that anyone repays you, or mediate disputes between members of a group.
Your account
You need a phone number to create an account, and you are responsible for what happens under it. You must be at least 18. Keep your phone secure — anyone who can receive your verification codes can reach your account.
Connecting a bank account
Connecting a financial account is optional and is handled by Plaid. Your bank credentials are entered with Plaid and are never visible to us. You can disconnect an account at any time in the app.
Your content
Expenses, trips, photos and notes you add remain yours. You grant us the licence needed to store and display them to the people you share them with, and to operate the service.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Vaux for anything unlawful, or to harass or defraud anyone.
- Do not add people to a group who have not agreed to be there.
- Do not attempt to access other users' data or disrupt the service.
Availability
The service is provided as-is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and amounts shown are a record of what you and your group entered, not financial advice or an audited statement.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time; write to us and we will remove it. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Vauxx Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for money owed to you by another person.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will say so in the app or by message before it takes effect.
